What are Chase Cars?

Chase cars are more rare versions of diecast models. The majority of diecast producers create chase cars for collectors to pursue. The cars feature unique design details which can range from a bare metal finish to different color wheels.

When we take delivery of a case of a particular model, most models will contain 1 chase car per case. It's important to note however that depending on the model, not every model will have an associated chase car.

How does Downskale handle Chase Cars?

If a particular model contains a chase car, and if the chase car is still available for sale for that model within our inventory, it will be noted on that model's product page. If the chase car is no longer available, we'll indicate that the chase car has been sold on the product page.

From time to time, we either receive or accidentally open the chase car! This happens when we shoot product photos and video. When this occurs, we'll list the chase car for sale individually on the Chase Cars page on the website.

How Do Preorders work?

In short - they don't! Here's how we're different at Downskale. Most consumers don't realize that when they place an order with another retailer who offers the ability to preorder a car before arrival, is that that inventory is NOT guaranteed by the retailer. We don't believe in taking your money up front and holding it for months only to find out the inventory we had tried reserving didn't become available to us.

We want to change the way preorders get handled by serving as the first retailer to offer deferred payments. Preorder items will be listed on the preorder page, and when you checkout with a preorder item in your cart, it'll appear as a $0 charge.

Later, when we take physical delivery of the product, we'll charge your card of file and ship the item to you. By checking out with a preorder item, you authorize us to charge your card upon arrival of the preorder item(s). Additional shipping charges may apply if preorder items are the only items in your cart.

Otherwise, the full shipping amount is charged up front and only the cost of the preorder items will be charged.

Where can I check my order status?

You can check the status of your order any time by navigating to the 'Track Order Status' page found at the bottom of any page. You'll either need to enter your email and order number, or your tracking number to view your order's current status.

How much is shipping?

Shipping is free for orders over $100. For orders under this amount, we offer 2 shipping methods via USPS and UPS. The first shipping method is a standard 3-5 day service with tracking included. We also offer an expedited 2 day shipping option via UPS.
